This is your sign to finally try that place you’ve been driving past. Treat yourself to a pastry and a long coffee at Lagom Bakery, or make a proper afternoon of it with a glass (or three) at Cupitt’s Winery. Rain has a funny way of making everything taste better.

Catch Some Local Art

The South Shoalhaven has a quietly brilliant arts scene, and there’s usually an exhibition or two worth checking out across Milton and Ulladulla. Galleries are warm, unhurried, and genuinely underrated on a grey day.

This might sound counterintuitive, but hear us out — overcast days can actually be brilliant for Whale Watching. The contrast makes spouts easier to spot, and the headlands feel pretty dramatic when the weather’s moody. Rug up, grab a takeaway coffee, and give Warden Head Lighthouse or Mollymook Headland a go.

Use the afternoon to stock up. Milton and Ulladulla have some wonderful local butchers and produce stores, and there’s something satisfying about picking up good ingredients on a rainy day and actually using them. Dinner sorted.
