Seeking an expert and exceptional Centre Manager to manage and lead the Country Universities Centre Southern Shoalhaven (CUCSS) based in Ulladulla on the South Coast of NSW. CUCSS is a Regional University Study Hub (RUSH) changing lives in the Southern Shoalhaven. Since opening in December 2021, the Centre has supported over 400 students to access tertiary education while remaining in our regional community.

As a network of Country Universities Centres (CUCs) based all over Australia our hub offers community connections, high-speed internet, advanced IT equipment, and support so local residents can pursue higher education within the region.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬

We're seeking an exceptional manager to guide CUCSS through its next phase of growth. As Centre Manager, you'll lead a dedicated staff team and work closely with the Board to deliver the 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, fostering connections with students, the CUC Network, universities, local schools, community organisations, and government partners.

This is more than a management role - it's an opportunity to make a tangible difference in this community, removing barriers to education and creating pathways to opportunity for regional students.

𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘

You'll be responsible for:

- Providing operational leadership and management to the Centre and staff team
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive and effective environment for students and staff
- Delivering operational effectiveness in response to the Goals set by the Strategic Plan
- Building and maintaining partnerships across education, government, and community sectors
- Managing budgets, compliance, and reporting to the Board and other relevant stakeholders
- Developing strategies to improve student engagement and retention
- Representing CUCSS professionally across the Shoalhaven community and beyond

𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨

You're a passionate, experienced leader who understands the transformative power of education. You bring:

𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹:

- Relevant postgraduate qualification/s
- Management capability to deliver organisational excellence and strategic thinking
- Demonstrated management experience and understanding of both the not-for-profit and higher education sectors
- Experience working with/reporting to a Board or equivalent governance structure
- Strong leadership skills with ability to develop and manage high-performing teams
- Excellent relationship-building and community engagement capabilities
- Business acumen and financial management skills
- Technological proficiency, spanning online platforms, hardware devices, and Microsoft Office 365
- Current Working with Children Check, CRIMCHECK, and Drivers License
- Australian Citizenship

- Experience in regional or community-based organisations
- Knowledge of widening participation initiatives
- Knowledge and expertise in seeking new funding sources
- Funding application writing and Grant management experience

- Full-time position with 6-month probation period
- Annual performance review
- Occasional travel and after-hours attendance for events
- Remuneration: Higher Education Industry General Staff Award (level 10) - negotiable based on experience
