Yumaro is a multi-award-winning not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering people with disability to live independent, fulfilling lives. We provide a diverse range of innovative disability services to over 250 participants across the Eurobodalla and southern Shoalhaven shires. Our integrated approach combines supported employment, specialist accommodation, home and community supports, social programs, learning and capacity building, support coordination, and plan management. 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲

Due to the growing demand for Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, Yumaro is seeking an experienced and people-focused Team Leader to support and guide our frontline staff who deliver high-quality independent living and community support services in the home environment.

In this role, you’ll provide leadership, coaching and day-to-day operational oversight to ensure clients receive safe, person-centred, and empowering support.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

Typical responsibilities include:

- Creating an empowering, person-centred environment and support participants with daily living, community engagement and individual goals.
- Ensure support plans, documentation, records and budgets are followed and maintained to a high standard.
- Lead and support Support Workers to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, staffing needs and team performance.
- Build trusted relationships with participants, families, guardians and allied health providers.
- Communicate clearly, attend key meetings and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a safe, clean and inclusive home environment.
- Manage incident reporting, behaviour support requirements and compliance with SIL and NDIS Practice Standards.
- Support WHS initiatives, audits and quality processes.

𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

- Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate and guide others
- A commitment to person-centred practice and empowering individuals with a disability to live independently
- Experience working in Supported Independent Living or similar settings
- Ability to build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
- Excellent communication, problem solving and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Current Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check
