About the Opportunity
As a remote accounting firm, we are experiencing significant growth and currently have an opportunity for a part-time/casual trainee role within the firm.
As a trainee, you will be working remotely approximately 15 hours per week, on a part time/casual basis (beginning as a casual role with the possibility of conversion into a part-time role).
We are very flexible with hours and make allowances for your study schedule, so that you can complete your degree while gaining valuable work experience. We want you to succeed in your studies and as such we will be very flexible around timing of shifts to complete study tasks - especially in exam periods.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the following attributes:
* Commenced or intend to commence an undergraduate degree (business/accounting/or similar major) in 2025
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to coordinate and work well with others
* A commitment to learning and personal development
* Excellent personal presentation

Key Duties
Your role will include:
* Preparation of basic income tax returns and business activity statements
* Progressing over time to the preparation of financial accounts
* Following our policies, procedures and systems
* Assisting the director with taxation research
* Participating in and hosting training sessions via zoom
* Providing support to participants in our Tax Agent Success Plan program
* Assisting our admin and social media team members
* Participating in quarterly CUC community and professional networking events

CUC Illuminate Scholarship Program
The successful applicant will be eligible to receive support in their studies from CUC Southern Shoalhaven as both a registered student and an Illuminate scholarship recipient.
Scholarship Details:
Value: $500 per annum
Duration: For the duration of your undergraduate degree (up to 3 years)
Payment: annually
Conditions: Maintaining enrolment in your degree program and satisfactory academic progress
Probation: Initial scholarship payment commences after successful completion of one semester of study.

Pathway to Permanent Employment
This position is designed as the first step in your accounting career journey. Upon successful completion of your degree, high-performing trainees will be considered for:
