About the role
This is a permanent, full time, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm position working 35 hours per week.
Located at the Nowra or Ulladulla Administration Building.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Portal & Planning Support Coordinator, the focus of this position is to:

To undertake the vetting of development and associated applications in an efficient and timely manner for lodgment, in accordance with relevant operating procedures, Acts, Regulations and policies of State Government and Council.
Provide advice and response to internal and external customer enquiries (received by phone, in writing, counter and web chat) related to portal and noncomplex development matters.
Provide internal and external customer service through the delivery of portal, planning and administrative support services.
Provide support to facilitate and monitor the timely management of outgoing and incoming referrals, submissions and other requests for information.
Foster, promote and operate in accordance with Council’s core values.
Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

Grade 7
Certificate III in Business Administration Studies or relevant experience
Experience in delivering customer service excellence within a highly regulated industry or environment/Local Government context
Basic understanding of Council’s planning, development and certification processes; Council’s policies and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Regulations

Grade 8
Certificate IV in Local Government (Planning) or equivalent substantial experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in delivering customer service excellence in a Planning and Development or related environment/ Local Government context
An applied understanding of Council’s planning, development and certification processes; Council’s policies and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Regulations

Grade 9
Completion or progress towards a Tertiary/ Industry recognised qualification in Town Planning/ Urban & Regional Planning or related field
Minimum 5 years’ experience in delivering customer service excellence in a in a Planning and Development or related environment/ Local Government context
An extensive applied understanding of Council’s planning, development and certification processes; Council’s policies and the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Regulations

Grade 7 – Salary: $64,246 - $72,210 p.a. plus 11% Super
Grade 8 - Salary: $71,574 - $80,451 p.a. plus 11% Super
Grade 9 – Salary: $77,416 - $90,120 p.a. plus 11% Super
