Clean Up Australia Day Tidy at Mollymook Beach

March 2 • 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Sunday 2nd March is Clean Up Australia Day, an initiative that started thirty-five years ago by an “average Australian” who had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard. This has now become the nation’s largest community-based environmental event and every year Treading Lightly contribute to this collection through our Tidy at Mollymook Beach. Although the beach and foreshore may seem clean on the surface, we always find plenty of litter making its way to our ocean.

This year, the Treading Lightly Tidy team will be joined by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Milton-Ulladulla. Everyone is invited to come along and lend a hand. Volunteers will meet at 9:30am near the basketball courts at Mollymook Beach. If you can spare an hour to help the earth, we’d love to see you there! You’ll have the chance to meet other like-minded locals, enjoy a stroll along the beach, and finish with a delicious sausage sandwich with the teams.

In 2024, the Treading Lightly Tidy team removed an impressive 565kg of waste across 11 clean-up events, contributing a total of 210 volunteer hours to this vital cause. Your participation will help make this year’s event even more impactful.

Join us on Sunday, 2nd March, and be part of something bigger on national Clean Up Australia Day. Together, we can help protect and preserve our environment for future generations.
