Fly From Everest

September 4 • 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

An inspiring story of adventure, determination and global impact is coming to the big screen in Ulladulla next month, with the Rotary Club of Milton-Ulladulla inviting the community to a special fundraising film night.
On Friday 4 September, Arcadia Twin Cinemas will screen Fly From Everest, a documentary following Australian adventurer Ken Hutt OAM as he attempts to become the first person to legally paraglide from the summit of Mount Everest.
But the film is about much more than an extraordinary feat of endurance. Ken’s expedition was driven by a bigger purpose — raising awareness and funds to support Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign, a global initiative working to eradicate polio once and for all.
Earlier this year, Ken was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in recognition of his longstanding commitment to fundraising efforts to eliminate the disease.
Guests will have the opportunity to hear directly from Ken, who will introduce the film and stay afterwards for a question-and-answer session, sharing stories from the expedition and the mission behind it.
The evening begins with drinks and nibbles from 6.00pm, before the film starts at 6.45pm.
All proceeds from the evening will support Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign. Every dollar raised will go even further, with donations matched 2:1 by the Gates Foundation, helping Rotary continue its work towards a world free from polio.
Whether you’re interested in adventure, humanitarian work, or simply looking for a meaningful night out, this promises to be a memorable community event.
