The Vikings are returning to Sussex Inlet for the June long weekend — and this year’s festival is shaping up to be the biggest yet.

Now in its sixth year, the Viking Festival Sussex Inlet is a celebration of the area’s Scandinavian heritage, honouring the legacy of early settlers who made their home on the shores of St Georges Basin. What started as a community idea in 2021 has grown into one of the South Coast’s most unique and loved winter events.

Expect a full day of Viking battles and re-enactments, cooking displays, live music, market stalls, and plenty of food and drink. The Kids Zone is packed with rides and activities, and there are even LEGO Robotics Workshops and a Puss in Boots Puppet Show to keep the little ones entertained. The best part?
